Electrical safety training introduces learners to essential principles for identifying electrical hazards, preventing accidents, and maintaining safer workplaces. The course explains basic electrical concepts, common causes of electrical incidents, the effects of electric shock, and the responsibilities of workers and employers in managing electrical risks.
Learners explore damaged equipment, exposed wiring, electrical overloads, grounding, ground-fault circuit interrupters, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices. The curriculum also covers electrical protective equipment, arc flash hazards, OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E principles, warning labels, and responsibilities for qualified and unqualified workers.
The course addresses emergency response, electrical burns, electrical fires, incident reporting, and workplace safety inspections. Learners develop foundational knowledge to recognise hazards, follow established safety procedures, and contribute to accident prevention. This introductory training does not replace specialised electrical qualifications, hands-on instruction, or competency assessments required for specific tasks.
